Summer may be drawing to a close, but it doesn’t mean you can’t do watersports and scuba diving anymore. For the tech-savvy gents out there, the Apple Watch Ultra is engineered to accompany you almost anywhere. However, if you prefer a traditional timepiece, there is no shortage of dive watches to choose from – just like this Promaster Aqualand from Citizen.

This tough timekeeping instrument is eye-catching courtesy of its Pepsi bezel. Depending on your wrist size, the Promaster Aqualand may seem a bit beefy at 46 mm. Nevertheless, it’s stylish enough to wear in and out of the water. To ensure top-notch performance in any scenario, Citizen endows it with a stainless-steel case, case back, and bezel.

A brushed finish keeps scratches and superficial blemishes barely visible. The crown placement, on the other hand, is not in a typical spot. Instead of at 3 o’clock, the watchmaker positions it at 4 o’clock. On the left side of the case band, are two pushers with guards that frame the depth sensor at 9 o’clock.

Most people who see the Promaster Aqualand for the first time often mistake this for the crown. Running the show here is Citizen’s J250 Eco-Drive quartz movement that can recharge its batteries from any light source. Moreover, it will last up to 10 years or more before it needs replacement.

Its uni-directional bezel features a blue and red inert with indices in white. Beneath the mineral glass crystal, a chapter ring lines the flange and forms a perimeter around the blue dial. A power reserve indicator is at 9 o’clock while a date window takes up the 3 o’clock hour marker. The Promaster Aqualand is matched with a blue polyurethane strap with a tang buckle closure.
