Born from the Concept X2 shown last year at the Paris Motor Show, the all-new 2018 BMW X2 SUV is set to be unleashed. The X2 sits at the fulcrum between a classic coupe and an SUV. It is a bit smaller inside with its low roof and slightly reduced cargo space. Even the seating is compact with the fifth seat only intended for short journeys.

The interior offers numerous options including such treats as Apple CarPlay and a larger infotainment screen than the standard 6.5″ unit. The BMW X2 SUV will be initially released on 17″ tires but options up to 20″ will soon be available.

While there are three engine options for the X2, they are all four-cylinder. The gas-powered 2.0-liter manages 228-hp for off-road muscle while the two diesel options produce 188 or a matching 228-hp each. Other engine options are forthcoming but there is no word on whether the X2 will ever be issued in hybrid or all-electric form.
