Don’t let snobbish opinions sway your decision. What truly matters at the end of the day is that you enjoyed a glass of whisky. If everything were up to the critics, other labels wouldn’t even have a chance to compete. Thankfully, enthusiasts know better and are always open to trying drams they find interesting. With this in mind, Johnnie Walker is offering the Vault.

The world-famous blending house boasts a diverse selection of spectacular spirits. Depending on how much you are willing to spend, there’s a whisky for your budget. Meanwhile, those who choose to splurge a bit more are also in good hands. Here is a new expression that’s ready to delight even the most discerning of drinkers.

Johnnie Walker tells us each bottle “brings together our rarest of whisky treasures, including exceptional whiskies from some of our legendary ghost distilleries.” A team of experts carefully chooses liquids of varying rarity and age statements. The Vault was overseen by the group’s master blender and lead technical specialist, Dr. Emma Walker.

“The Brora core is amplified by Port Dundas whisky, imparting warm notes of sweet, sumptuous caramel. Speyside Cardhu, the heart note that shaped the Johnnie Walker legacy, infuses bright, fruity vibrancy, and an exceptional Clynelish brings layered richness, silky texture, and a whisper of Scotland’s coastal soul,” reads the official tasting notes.

After extensive sampling, the Vault finally comes to fruition at an ABV of 43.8% and ships out in a cube-like crystal decanter. The bottle purportedly borrows aesthetic details from a Blue Label archive design. To signify just how valuable the contents are, the collar label and closure are a dazzling gold. Finally, an engraving of the Striding Man adorns the top of its metallic cap.
