Luggage brands usually build campaigns around airports. Monos built this one around a restored 1998 Mercedes-Benz G320, matched the suitcases to its plaid interior, then made the truck part of the prize.
The Vancouver luggage company worked with local restoration shop Pre-Merger to create a one-of-one Milspec Heritage G-Class. It is not a brand-new G-Wagen dressed in retro trim. The donor vehicle was imported from Tokyo, stripped back and rebuilt around the character of the late-1990s truck.
The result is finished in a custom-tinted version of Alfa Romeo Amaranto, a deep red that works especially well against the black wheels, bumpers and protective hardware.

The Luggage Starts With The Seats
The most interesting connection is inside. Pre-Merger reupholstered the G320 in black leather with custom-woven Rodeo Plaid inserts, then carried the same idea into Monos’ limited-edition Aluminum Rodeo Check collection.
Instead of printing the pattern onto the cases, Monos debosses a dimensional check into each gunmetal aluminum shell. The interiors use black ripstop fabric, diamond quilting and tonal trim, so the luggage follows the truck without looking like novelty merchandise.
The collection includes an Aluminum Carry-On from $745, a Carry-On Plus from $765, a Check-In Medium from $825, a Check-In Large from $855 and an Aluminum Trunk Large from $875.
That makes the luggage expensive in its own right, but it is still easier to acquire than the vehicle that inspired it.
The G320 Keeps Its Original V6
Pre-Merger retained the factory 3.2-litre M112 V6 and five-speed automatic transmission. Air conditioning also remains, while a Continental Bluetooth head unit adds hands-free calling and modern audio without turning the dashboard into a wall of screens.
Outside, the G320 receives W461 Professional-style hardware, 16-inch PUR x Milspec wheels and 265/75R16 BFGoodrich All-Terrain KO3 tyres. The matching full-size spare sits beneath a Mercedes-Benz fabric cover, while the paint receives correction, detailing and ceramic protection.
The approach is less theatrical than many modern G-Class conversions. Mercedes-Benz has played with the same nostalgia through the G-Class STRONGER THAN THE 1980s Edition, but this project begins with an actual 1998 truck rather than a new model wearing period-inspired details.
One Winner Gets The Truck And The Luggage

The giveaway runs from October 7 through November 26, 2026. No purchase is necessary, although the promotion is limited to eligible residents of the United States and Canada. Alaska, Hawaii, Rhode Island and Quebec are excluded, and entrants must have reached the age of majority where they live.
The grand prize includes the one-of-one G320, a trip for two to Vancouver with flights and a two-night hotel stay, plus a limited-edition Rodeo Check luggage set. Monos lists the package at an approximate retail value of $97,500.
The verified winner can choose a $20,000 cash alternative instead. Anyone taking the G320 is responsible for taxes, registration, insurance, transport and any other costs involved in legally owning the vehicle.
Even without the giveaway, the project is a smart way to launch a luggage pattern. The cases borrow a detail that G-Class enthusiasts already recognise, while the restored truck gives the collection a reason to exist beyond another limited-edition colour.
