The launch of the Black Badge Spectre Series II reaffirms Rolls-Royce’s commitment to emission-free motoring in the coming years. It is a stunning all-electric coupe with an exclusive upgrade package over the standard version. Before the big green transition, clients might as well commission a bespoke build like the Phantom Hummingbird.
According to the press release, the illustrious marque’s Private Office Dubai curated this one-off luxury saloon for a buyer. This extended wheelbase variant is apparently a gift for the wife, which explains the subtle avian-inspired elements. This project also marks the design team’s first attempt to incorporate abalone shell marquetry.
These decorative flourishes appear on the Picnic Table and Waterfall section of the Phantom Hummingbird. The breakdown tells us that our feathered friend uses 53 pieces, while the botanical detailing is around 84 pieces. Abalone shell was the ideal choice because of its iridescent hues. Mother-of-pearl is likewise in use for that bit of contrast.
To ensure the special motif stands out, Ash Burr veneer and Silver Birch form the backdrop. Upholstery, on the other hand, is Creme Light leather, alongside Tan and Moccasin accents. Next, we have Seashell carpets and the signature Starlight headliner. Elsewhere, the nectar-feeding creature appears on the coachline as a hand-painted embellishment.
Speaking of colors, the exterior two-tone paint job of the Phantom Hummingbird is a combination of Wildberry for the bottom and White Sands for the upper body. “Named after the hummingbird – a symbol of joy, resilience and the ability to find beauty in every moment – this motor car was envisioned to celebrate the intricate beauty of the natural world,” notes Rolls-Royce.
