South Korean lighting studio ILKW brings a pop of candy-inspired silhouette to the SNOWMAN12 lamp. This portable lamp adds an artistic retro vibe to any setting with its colorful hue. It also provides over five days of illumination.

It delivers reliable lighting performance from its rechargeable 5,000mAh battery. The battery is an upgrade from the 900mAh of the previously released SNOWMAN8. The increase means a longer runtime of 260 hours instead of 60 hours, on a single two-hour battery charge.

Additionally, ILKW gave the SNOWMAN12 an output of 43 lumens, up from 28 lumens of the SNOWMAN8. This delivers a wider range of illumination that, according to the studio, “text can be clearly read within approximately 50cm (20 inches).” The longer battery life and increased brightness aren’t the only upgrades.

This portable lamp also features an expanded 4.7-inch shade diameter, which gives it a more architectural appearance. The wider top also supports the upgraded, wider light coverage.  Meanwhile, its balloon-like base balances the overall form. It provides structural integrity and a stable support for the expanded head.

SNOWMAN12 also features a fitted patterned silicone plate that provides secure surface grip. On the front, a touch button with a subtle raised accent offers tactile access even in the dark. ILKW also gave this lamp a two-tone body in four optimal color pairings: Oatmeal & Cocoa, Silver & Light Mint, Carrot & Pink, and Butter & Baby Blue.

The contrasting materials and colors give it a more distinct presence that attracts attention. Its colorful silhouette makes it a great display too. Even the lamp’s tin can packaging mirrors the playful approach applied to this minimalist yet functional luminaire.
