Titaner’s Razorbill flipper knife might be one of its finest releases yet. It’s a killer with its elegant, sleek silhouette alone. Pair that with a blade crafted for precision and multi-cut versatility, and you have an heirloom-worthy knife CNC-machined directly from a single block of Böhler M390 super steel or Sandvik 14C28N steel.
“The direction of every facet, the position of every ridge, and the way each transition converges toward the tip are all precisely established through CNC machining,” Titaner says of the engineering behind the blade design. It features a unique profile called “re-engineered Modified Tanto geometry” that offers multiple working zones for different jobs.
The Primary Edge is for everyday cutting, the Secondary Point for scoring and entry cuts, and the Forward Edge for push cuts and scraping. This unique blade profile also cuts smoothly through thick materials like cardboard or leather. Razorbill can first create a defined entry point with its refined tip (penetration) before transitioning into a cut.
A section of steel missing on the blade face isn’t purely for aesthetics. This is the Geometric CNC Fuller, designed to reduce the amount of surface area in contact with the material. It expands clearance between the blade face and the cut, reducing drag and material adhesion. Then, the Long Spine Swedge preserves the familiar traditional Tanto profile, while giving the tip a more refined, sharper dimension.
Meanwhile, Razorbill features a multi-faceted GR5 titanium handle for ergonomic grip and control. It has a thumb hole as a flipper opener. The handle is available in standard micro-blasted or satin-brushed finishes. It is also available in a limited-edition, hand-engraved Skull & Rose edition. Razorbill weighs just 3.58oz and is 7.95″ long (1.22″ when folded) and 0.47″ thick.
