The OnePlus 6T just launched recently, but OnePlus has clearly bigger plans ahead. As it turns out, the company that’s best known for its flagship-level budget smartphones is planning to expand its hardware portfolio to include TVs.

That’s right — beloved Chinese OEM OnePlus is also venturing into our living rooms. Founder and CEO Pete Lau has announced that OnePlus is launching the OnePlus TV next year. Interestingly, he calls it the first step in “building a connected human experience.”

The TV will feature the premium design OnePlus phones are known for, according to Lau. Plus, the company will focus on image quality and audio experience.

“We want to bring the home environment to the next level of intelligent connectivity. To do this, we are building a new product of OnePlus’ premium flagship design, image quality and audio experience to more seamlessly connect the home,” he said in a blog post.

Because the company wants to focus on image and audio quality, it’s safe to assume the TV would support 4K resolution. Perhaps even HDR. As for audio, Dolby is likely, along with other advanced audio standards on most high-end TVs nowadays.

Lau also hinted at reinvigorating the TV market. We’re not sure what that means, exactly. That said, he argued that “the current market of TVs is still feeling quite traditional in their functionality and experience. Moreover, he also said TVs haven’t really been well-integrated the internet into the experience. It seems Lau intends to make our TVs a bigger part of our connected ecosystem. Although it’s unclear what that’s going to look like, it sounds pretty exciting.

We’re ready for it, OnePlus.
