HMD Global continues to push the Nokia brand forward in order to reclaim its former glory. So far, the tech industry’s response to its products has been favorable. A lot of consumers—us included—are glad that the company finally embraced the Android platform for its smartphones. It even threw a little fan service into the mix with the modern rework of the iconic 3310 and 8110 handsets. However, innovation is ultimately its agenda and the Nokia X7 is another step in the right direction.

For now, the manufacturer seems content to focus its resources on the mid-range market. Most industry analysts find it a brilliant move. As it currently stands, the high-end segment is fiercely contested by the likes of Apple, Samsung, Huawei, and others. Therefore, a careful approach starting with the middle ground and slowing pushing upward is the best course of action for now. The Nokia X7 is an ideal stepping stone towards that goal.

Looking at its spec sheet, the Nokia X7 definitely falls into the mid-range category. You have a fairly new Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 chipset alongside 4GB or 6GB of RAM. Internal storage options available are 64GB and 128GB that corresponds to the size of the RAM respectively. Similar to the majority of smartphones in the same range, it’s marketed for its imaging capabilities. The 3,500mAh battery should give it enough power to last a full day of regular usage. Moreover, the handset sports a premium build and runs on Google’s Android 9.0 Pie platform out-of-the-box.
