Soon to be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show, the 488 Pista is the latest V8-fitted special series Ferrari. This sexy rocket on wheels has 711-hp at its disposal, allowing it to get from 0-62 in 2.85 secs and reach a top speed of over 211 mph.
Named after Ferrari’s heritage in motorsports, the Pista is sportier than its predecessors. It borrows heavily from the 488 GTE and the 488 Challenge racing cars, to keep the weight down and for functional aerodynamic shapes. The cockpit sits back in keeping with its very sporty vocation, while an S-Duct and optimized diffusers at the front provide massive downforce, and the dolphin-tail rear spoiler further enhances the flowing, aero lines.
Designed to enhance driving pleasure for both professional or amateur racers, the car’s performance on the limit is said to be “easier to reach and control.” This is achieved by the mechanical set-up, the Side-Slip Angle Control system, and, for the first time ever, the Ferrari Dynamic Enhancer feature that uses special software to adjust the brake pressure at the calipers.
