Wiral has just given the amateur cinematographer a new tool to help get smooth shots in difficult places. The Wiral Lite Cable Cam System is a cable riding universal camera mount that can hold smartphones, action cameras, or mirrorless cameras up to 3.3 lbs (1.5kg).
The Wiral sets up in minutes and can be placed in tight or narrow spaces where traditional rail cameras or drones can’t go. It comes with a 656ft. (200m)-range remote control and a quick-reel that holds 164′ (50m) of UHMWPE cable on which the Wiral rides along, allowing you to change speeds, toggle three different time-lapse modes, or mark on the cable route where the mount starts or stops.
The Wiral Lite has a maximum speed of 28 mph (45 km/h) and a minimum of just 0.006 mph (0.01 km/h). Weighing only 1.3 lbs, the cam system can be carried in a backpack and the removable, rechargeable battery provides 3 hours of power.
