The Malvaux Number 1 Knife was designed as an heirloom quality tool, to be as aesthetically pleasing as it is easy to use. With a radically bent handle, the Number 1 has a blade made of hand-polished stainless steel that has been water-jet cut and then sharpened in Solingen.
Made of CNC-milled anodized aluminum, the handle – the knife’s most unusual feature – has a sharp bend towards the back that serves multiple purposes. It allows the blade to be drawn without having to scrabble for thumb slits and the ergonomic form fits the human hand for much better control. The proprietary screw system keeps the opening smooth and also makes it easier to change the blade if it gets damaged.
The first two limited runs of the Malvaux Number 1 knife were 150 each of orange and grey handles and they sold out quickly. This third run of 150 hand-crafted knives have a light green handle and have been appropriated for sale exclusively by online gear and apparel supplier Huckberry of San Francisco, California.
