As electric transportation grows ever more advanced it is no surprise that upstate New York’s Bollinger Motors was the first to build a fully working prototype All-Electric Sport Utility Truck ($TBA). The B1 boldly displays its influences of Land Rover Defenders and Jeep Wranglers with its boxy, iconic off-road profile. It also packs serious electric muscle!
To keep the B1 safe, the four-passenger interior is formed inside a steel safety cage. To keep the B1 light, the preponderance of the body is formed of aluminum down to the high offset wheels. The interior was kept simple enough to clean out with a hose as all gauges and electronics are sealed and waterproofed.
The juice comes from a 100 kWh lithium-ion battery pack driving the four wheel-mounted motors with 360 hp, 472 lb-ft of torque power, an impressive 0-60 mph in just 4.5 seconds, and a top speed of 127 mph! It is designed to give about a 200-mile range per charge. Bollinger has kept the design clean & classic on this electric bad boy, complemented by the ‘gunhouse’ grey paint with black accents and the black leather interior.
