2017 promises to be a very good year for watchmakers Bell & Ross. The French-based company is releasing two new style options for their popular BR 03-92 line of wrist watches. The Bell & Ross BR 03-92 Horograph ($2,980) is inspired by the German-minimalist design school of Bauhaus. The Horolum ($3,180) is a modification of the classic Bell & Ross look but has had the luminescence pumped up.
Despite the round looking dial, the BR 03-92’s are square-cased with screws in each of the four corners to give an instrument panel look to the watches. They are driven by the BR-CAL302 movement and have a 38 hour power reserve. The 42mm wide bead-blasted steel cases are water resistant down to 100 meters (300 feet).
The Horograph has the standard three hands and date readout of Bell & Ross watches. The time indices are not numbered and the hands are square-ended. The Horolum is numbered at 3, 6, 9, and 12 and the hands have distinct point ends. The numbers and hour indices are cutouts so that the luminescence can glow (quite strongly) from underneath.
