Many people consider Chris Reeve to be the epitome of production knife creation at his eponymous knife works in Boise, Idaho. Hailing originally from Durban, South Africa, he has constantly “pushed the envelope” till he was inducted into the Cutlery Hall of Fame in 2015. To celebrate his success he has released yet another award-winning blade.
The Large Sebenza 21 with Cocobolo Wood Inlay ($485) is a classic drop point blade. The blade is American-made stainless S35V steel with a RC hardness of 59-60 and a satin finish with a gold-anodized titanium thumb lug. The frame is Satin Flats Titanium with inlays of Cocobolo wood for a smooth, organic feel. It also features Chris Reeve’s exclusive locking mechanism and a titanium pocket clip.
At a mere 4.5 ounces, the Sebenza 21 is 8.3″ long total, with a 3.6″ blade. The brown leather slip-case assures protection from scratches for the unique Cocobolo wood inlays. Once more Mr. Reeve shows knives are every bit as much a work of art as a tool.
