Referring to Singer Vehicle Design’s work as mere restorations would be unfair. These guys meticulously rebuild and optimize air-cooled 911s, turning them into genuine pieces of automotive art (Top Gear named their super-exclusive cars “the finest 911s”). The latest gem to roll out of Singer’s garage is the ‘North Carolina’ Porsche 911 ($NA), a ride that drives as superb as it looks.
Based on a 1991 model, the one-off vehicle rocks carbon fiber body panels, bespoke race-bred Ohlins shocks, Brembo brakes, and a close-ratio 6 speed transmission that’s coupled to a 4.0-liter flat-six engine (producing 390hp), developed by the engineers at Ed Pink Racing Engines. This translates into a 0 – 60mph in 3.3 seconds and 0 – 100mph in just 8.2 sec, which should be enough to deliver some exciting thrills for the lucky owner. The stunning ‘North Carolina’ also comes with leather Recaro touring seats and it’s finished in a classy Blood Red Dark color scheme.
