With all the tech world focused on adapting the best chips, sensors and software to fit into our mobile smartphones, it was just a matter of time until someone decided to fit all this advanced stuff into a super-camera. Case in point, the Light L16 Camera ($1,300) – a pocket-sized gadget with 16 lenses on its front, that takes photos the quality of a 52-megapixel DSLR, and packs a few other tricks up its sleeve.
With a single push of a button, the L16 fires 10 out of the 16 smartphone-type cameras, capturing multiple images with different focus points and various exposure levels. Then, the images are combined into one large high-quality photo with a wide dynamic range. The camera has a built-in 35 to 150 mm optical zoom, depth of field control and low image noise, and strong low-light performance. It comes equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 2.2Ghz chip, Wi-Fi connectivity, and a five-inch touch screen that allows for some photo editing. The Light L16 camera will be a bit larger than an iPhone 6, and is expected to ship the by the end of summer 2016. Details in the video
