For over 36 years, Dutch company Dunkervoort has been building sports cars the way they are meant to be. No nonsense & no compromise! And here is their latest creation, the Donkervoort D8 GTO Bare Naked Carbon Edition ($TBA), a machine that would make Batman himself drool over.
The open-wheel 2-seater is built entirely from carbon fiber, inside and out, including the tubular frame, panels, the seats, window frame, dashboard, door sills, and even the ignition cylinder housing, roll-bar trim and headlight housings. It’s coated with a matte black UV finish, meaning it’s all visible, bare naked carbon fiber, a feature that not only complements the aggressive look, but also helps reducing weight because there’s no paint. Power comes from a 2.5-liter Audi five-cylinder TFSI engine, producing 340bhp, with a top speed of 168 MPH, and 0-62mph in 2.8 seconds. The interior of the D8 GTO shows the identity of a purebred race car, with a minimalist dashboard boasting high-tech switches like a special race-module switch and traction control button. In the maker’s typical fashion, the Donkervoort D8 has no ABS brakes, no EPS, and no power steering. Unnecessary features!
