As laptop makers seek to build the lightest, slimmest, most-perfect portable computer, Dell is bringing to the table a brilliantly designed machine that sets the bar high for other contenders such as Apple’s MacBook Air. Say hello to the ‘smallest 13-inch on the planet with the world’s first infinity display’- the new Dell XPS 13 Ultrabook ($800+).
Featuring the thinnest display bezel ever used on a notebook, the 13-inch high-definition screen is packed inside an 11-inch body, making the XPS 13 a true one-of-a-kind. And there’s more. The company claims an insane battery life of up to 15 hours on a single charge (11 hours for the touchscreen version)- plenty of juice to get you through a long day of work&play. This is achieved in part thanks to the new 5th Generation Core Intel processor, that also provides lightning speed, clarity, and stunning graphics.
In terms of materials used for crafting the XPS 13 (keeping the weight down to just 2.6 lb), their quality is second to none: precision-carved aluminum chassis, Corning Gorilla Glass for screen protection, and a cool carbon-fiber keyboard deck. All these specs, combined with a very affordable price tag, make the Dell XPS 13 a highly desirable laptop, a winner of over 7 awards at CES 2015.
We were lucky to receive a review unit (QHD+ touch version), which we decided to use for all the work done on MensGear during an entire week, starting today. Stay tuned for our verdict!
