While most people identify Lexus with luxury, the car has been updating its image lately, tapping into the high-performing sports vehicle market. The new 2015 Lexus RC F ($62,400) takes things even further, being touted as “the most powerful Lexus ever.”
Made for the driving purists, the RC F excels on the road, but to fully enjoy this baby you’d better take it where it can thrive: on the track. So, let’s get straight to the good stuff. Under the hood is a 5.0L engine that pumps out an impressive 467HP and 388 lb-ft of torque, coupled to a close-ratio 8-speed direct-shift automatic transmission (zipping the car from 0 to 60 in just 4.4 seconds!). Visually, it’s impossible to overlook the car’s exterior with its menacing black spindle grille (the largest on any Lexus), the sexy 19″ BBS black chrome aluminum wheels, the LED headlamps and signature arrow accent lights, quad stainless steel exhaust pipes, and the retractable spoiler built into the trunk lid.
The interior boasts the luxury features you’d expect from a Lexus, applied to a sports coupe: deeply bolstered high-back sport seats, quality finishes with aluminum composite trim, optional dark carbon fiber accents, premium suede-like Alcantara on the armrests, and a top notch infotainment system. Yes, the 2015 Lexus RC F is a powerful beast with seriously good looks, and to say we’ d be thrilled to drive it, is an understatement.
