If a ’32 Ford 3-Window Coupe and a Lockheed F-117 Nighthawk aircraft had an offspring together, this would be it! Combining the chopped look of classic hot rods with the futuristic design of a stealth bomber, the Sbarro Eight Hotrod Concept is a brilliant machine oozing with menace.

A team of 20 students and four teachers from ESPERA Sbarro Montbéliard (a training school for automotive technology) worked on this concept car, building it from the ground up in just 40 days. The result? A French hot rod with an Italian heart. Under the hood, this sick car packs a 3.2-liter twin turbo Maserati V8 engine with 368 hp. A custom side-exit exhaust is connected directly to the turbos so the sound is pure undiluted violence, spitting copious loads of unburnt fuel and causing flames on the overrun.

Just like the bulky old school hot rods, the Eight was fitted with bigger OZ Racing wheels at the back than at the front, covered in Michelin Pilot Sports and Bridgestone Potenza at the rear. In the interior, the doors are made out of real wood with leather pull straps, and the seats are fibreglass bases covered with asymmetric hand-stitched leather padding, as cushions. Matching this beautiful madness, the steering wheel is a leather-covered custom unit featuring a Magic 8 ball in the middle. Well done, boys! via
