The newest $100 bill is due to launch on October 8th of this year, so get ready to be holding some clean and fresh Benjamin’s in your hand this fall. To combat fraud the new bill will come with a load of security features including a blue strip woven into (not printed on) the paper, two serial numbers, the copper bell in the inkwell combats counterfeiting by turning blue when the bill is tinted.
As well as those anti-fraud features the new $100 bill will sport familiar design details such as the Symbols of Freedom from the Declaration of Independence, and of course Benjamin Franklin’s head.
