If you love transparency in your timepieces, this beauty is bound to meet your taste. Its 47 mm case is made of sapphire, and only has a few key components made of 18kt white gold: the crown, the bezel and the lugs. The sapphire features anti-reflexive coating to permit excellent visibility of both the dial and the movement.
Its remarkable transparency makes the watch seem almost weightless, which is very fitting, given that it was created as a tribute to French aviator Louis Blériot. The name of the timepiece is actually Zenith Pilot Type 20 Hommageá Louis Blériot, and its functions include small seconds at the 9 o’clock position, a power reserve gauge at 3 o’clock, and the hours and minutes in the classic center position.
The in-house manual-wind movement (caliber 5011k) contains 19 jewels, produces 18,000 vph, and has a power reserve of 48 hours. It is hand engraved with images from Blériot’s historic flight across the English Channel. Zenith has limited this model to only five pieces, and they all come with black alligator straps and 18kt white gold pin buckles.
