Vosteed upgraded the Parallel pocket knife with enhanced grip and control in the new nature-inspired Parallel A3522. While the upgraded unit retains the original’s super-slim, lightweight footprint, it now boasts new blade steel and a textured handle.
The most obvious and significant change is in the titanium handle, which now features a spider-web pattern etched on the scales. It isn’t merely for aesthetics. Its raised texture gives the handle a more tactile feel and provides ergonomic grip support. The textured grip is especially useful when handling the knife during wet or slippery conditions.
Moreover, Parallel A3522 gets a new Tanto blade with a sturdier tip crafted from S35VN steel. This is premium stainless steel that offers excellent corrosion resistance, edge retention, and is easy to sharpen. It also requires minimal maintenance, unlike some ultra-hard steels, making it a practical choice for everyday carry.
Other than these two upgrades, the rest remains faithful to the original. It still features the same silhouette and pocketable size. This folder still clocks in at an overall length of 7.04″ with the blade retaining the same length at 2.9″. Other elements stay true to the original, including the crossbar lock, caged ceramic ball-bearing pivot, and thumb stud blade deployment.
For added portability and versatile carrying options, the Parallel A3522 also features a lanyard hole and a reversible pocket clip. The upgrades don’t present a huge departure from the original, but are beneficial nonetheless. The spider-web pattern specifically adds a bit of flair and rugged design, while the Tanto blade looks menacingly tough.
