Most of the chronograph designs of Jack Heuer are very well-known to collectors and dealers around the world. However, one of his simpler and more stylish watches is only now beginning to achieve the status previously withheld from it. In honor of the iconic Chevrolet Camaro muscle car, Heuer created an elegant cushion-shaped watch that was only in production from 1968 to 1972.

The Vintage Heuer Camaro Watch ($5,400) you see here is a manually-wound watch, powered by the well-proven and solid Valjoux 7733 movement. As you can appreciate, its stainless steel case is in very good condition, retaining factory sunburst finishing, while the dial has “gained a warm, tropical patination.” The luminescent hours markers & hands have also developed a warm even patina, and the case back presents some light scratches. Arriving with one 18mm chocolate brown leather strap and two 18mm nylon straps from Crown & Buckle, the timepiece has Heuer’s signature on the crown.

As the Heuer Cameros start reappearing on the market, the prices are beginning to rise. If you are interested in wrapping some understated elegance to your wrist you may want to find one of these beautifully crafted chronographs before they are all reclaimed. [via]
