As automotive industry pundits said before, EVs are the future. Sustainable mobility has always been the target, and the remarkable growth in adoption paints a positive picture that conservationists would be proud of. Truth is, some countries make going hybrid or all-electric even more appealing with a range of perks. Meanwhile, e-bikes like the Discover 3 are also awesome alternatives.

Even before the COVID-19 pandemic, cycling was already quite popular. These days, people who want to squeeze in a bit of exercise on their way to work or somewhere else hop on their pedal-powered rides. Velotric, on the other hand, caters to consumers who want to experience the benefits of the latest commuter models.

One look at the step-through frame tells you this is designed for comfort in various settings. However, the manufacturer goes the extra mile to engineer a durable triple-butted aluminum alloy frame. There are only two sizes available: Regular and Large. The former can accommodate rider heights between 5’2″ and 5’11”, while the latter fits those in the range of 5’9″ and 6’7″.

For safety and durability, your Discover 3 is UL2271- and UL2849-certified. Furthermore, the IPX7 and IPX6 ratings ensure your e-bike can withstand the elements. When you need a boost, the 750W hub motor can reach a peak power of 1,100W and 55.32 lb-ft of torque. A full charge of its 48V, 15.2 Ah (730 Wh) battery lasts approximately 80 miles.

Should riders need electronic assistance, Velotric enables five riding modes. Switch between three Class settings to adjust maximum speed from as low as 12 mph to 28 mph. Keep in mind that in fully electric mode, range goes down to 65 miles. Not exactly a dealbreaker, in our opinion. Lastly, aluminum alloy rims shod in KENDA tires promise reliable performance over pavement, hill climbs, and gravel trails.
