Flashlight brand Rodman launched an upgraded version of its ED08 flashlight, released last year. Called the ED08 2.0, it now offers better LEDs and an improved build in the same tiny, coin-sized footprint.
This pendant-sized torch measures merely 1.4″ x 1.3″ and weighs just 36 grams. Like its predecessor, it’s also crafted from GR5 titanium, which offers lightweight strength and excellent corrosion resistance. Similarly, it delivers a max brightness of 300 lumens, which is strong for a flashlight this size.
The ED08 2.0 can run at 300 lumens for an hour and up to 30 hours at just 5 lumens. The main light boasts a 50-meter beam distance (164 feet), effectively illuminating a dark path ahead. Moreover, this version packs five light colors and ten handy modes, including SOS and Strobe. It features night-vision-friendly red, UV for inspection or detection, warm white light for reading, and warm amber for nighttime ambiance
But instead of the 13 LEDs found in the original, it now uses only eight across the same five-color range. Rodman says these are sleek ceramic LEDs with a longer lifespan. Additionally, the upgraded version swapped the blue light for amber light, which can penetrate darkness and smoke more effectively. A high-clarity lens also replaced the frosted lens for 99% light transmittance.
The ED08 2.0 retained the flip-out stand, but it now stands firmly in place at any angle. The keyring hole is also larger for easier USB-C charging access without removing the flashlight from a lanyard or carabiner. It also now has two Tritium slots for glow-in-the-dark visibility. It still magnetically attaches to metal surfaces for hands-free use and runs on the same rechargeable 150-mAh battery as before.
