Fans of Ian Fleming’s world-famous spy are still waiting for a specific announcement from Hollywood. Ever since Daniel Craig said farewell after a 15-year stint as Agent 007, we still don’t know who will take up the mantle. So far, rumors are hinting at several names. However, until it’s official, OMEGA teases the James Bond x Spectre Edition.
The prestigious watchmaker is one of several brands that maintain an active partnership with the franchise. Thus, these two elegant timepieces embody distinct elements from the series and are bound to find their way into the daily rotation of collectors. The cosmetic variances are subtle but noticeable enough when you switch between them. These ship with steel bracelets and foldover clasp closures.
Our pick in the James Bond x Spectre Edition is the Seamaster Diver 300M with a darker motif. It exudes a villain vibe, but maintains a classy profile that belies a formidable construction. As its name suggests, this professional-tier diver’s watch will survive depths of 1,000 feet. Meanwhile, sapphire crystals provide exceptional scratch resistance on both sides.
The James Bond Edition conveys this capability via the blue aluminum dial with laser-etched wave patterns. OMEGA pairs reference 210.30.42.20.03.004 with a unidirectional rotating bezel and a grade 5 titanium bezel insert. Its counterpart, reference 210.30.42.20.01.023, on the other hand, flaunts a matte black dial with a matching matte black ceramic bezel insert.
Lastly, other noteworthy contrasting elements between these timekeeping instruments are the decorative gun-barrel and Spectre emblem on the OMEGA 8806 self-winding calibers’ rotors. The James Bond x Spectre Edition sport 50 mm x 14.23 mm steel cases feature helium escape valves (HEV) at 10 o’clock on the case band. White Super-LumiNova fills the hour markers, hands, and 12 o’clock dot on the bezel.
