Before and shortly after Lenovo acquired Motorola, the brand was noticeably struggling against other Android OEMs. However, the foray into foldable smartphones surprisingly bolstered its presence. Fast-forward to 2026, and its hardware lineup has grown even more. If you’re getting the Signature 27 soon, pair it with the new Moto Buds 2 Ultra.

Normally, buyers prefer products from the same manufacturer. Although most true-wireless earbuds are fully compatible with devices that have Bluetooth connectivity, it’s all a matter of personal preference. So far, our only gripe here is the choice of colorways. Nevertheless, matching shades do not impact its features.

The Moto Buds 2 Ultra is available in PANTONE Temple Gray and PANTONE Reflecting Pond. None of these even come close to the Signature 27’s PANTONE Capulet Olive and PANTONE Coal Smoke, from a chromatic perspective. Anyway, what truly matters here is the sound quality.

To ensure acoustic fidelity is top-notch, Motorola is partnering with Bose. With the latter’s reputation in the audio space, listeners can expect “rich, precisely tuned sound.” Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio support promise an immersive soundstage over Bluetooth.

For situational awareness, switch from Bose QuietControl ANC to Transparency Mode on the fly. Meanwhile, three high-SNR microphones can “isolate your voice from background noise – so you can record interviews, voiceovers, and videos in studio-quality audio.”

Making it more convenient for the modern user is Motorola Qira — an in-house AI assistant that expands the TWS earbuds’ capabilities beyond music and telecommunication. Moreover, we can pick between touch and head gestures for intuitive controls. Likewise, Wear Detection automatically pauses playback when you take them off and resumes once the Moto Buds 2 Ultra are back in.
