Having personally used the Edge 70 as a daily driver for the last few months, this is worth the upgrade. While not as slim as the former, the Edge 70 Max makes up for it with a beefier battery. Moreover, it’s rocking a powerful chipset that can handle anything you throw its way. Likewise, build quality is notably premium in contrast to the series’ mid-range unit.
Motorola is dropping the fabric-texture polymer rear cover for a Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. This is the same durable crystal covering the device’s 6.82″ Extreme AMOLED screen. The display boasts a quad HD+ resolution (510 ppi), a 144 Hz refresh rate, and up to 7,000 nits of peak brightness. Meanwhile, we have an aircraft-grade aluminum frame.
Next is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC, paired with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB USF 4.1 ROM. Sadly, some might find the internal storage inadequate, especially given there is no microSD expansion slot. For imaging, the Edge 70 Max calls on an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle sensor and a 50 MP Sony LYTIA 710 main sensor.
A front-facing 32 MP camera is in charge of selfies. The top selling point of this handset is the massive 7100 mAh silicon-carbon battery. According to tests, a full charge will last between 3 and 4 days, depending on the owner’s usage. The Edge 70 Max supports 90W TurboPower wired fast-charging and 25W magnetic wireless charging.
