Glorious from every angle, the innovative Hautlence Vortex is a ‘can’t take your eyes off it’ kind of watch. It boasts high transparency, allowing curious eyes to feast on the intricate and quite mesmerizing mechanisms inside. Don’t assume that this is a fragile timepiece, though: its scratch-resistant 3D sapphire crystals (there are six of them) and the beautifully engineered titanium case ensure uncompromising durability and even water resistance of up to 30 meters (approx. 100 feet).
Measuring 52mm by 50mm by 17.8 mm, the watch is clearly on the bulkier side, which makes it an ideal accessory for people who are not too keen on blending in. For enhanced aesthetics, the Vortex was given a variety of fine-watchmaking finishes, such as Hand-beveled, hand-drawn, satin-brushed, ruthenium-anthracite coating, and mirror-polished details.
The dial is beautifully complex, with the upper sapphire face showing the minutes, and having separate openings for the hours (on the left) and the power reserve (at the upper right corner). SuperLuminova coating was added to all numerals, as well as the minutes hand. Customers can choose from three black strap versions: Louisiana alligator, hornback crocodile with red stitching, and rubber.
Hautlence Vortex is described by its makers as a tribute to modern architecture, incorporating unique mechanics to display the time. We are deeply fascinated by its Swiss automatic movement: an in-house caliber HLR2.0 with 92 jewels, a beautiful 18kt white gold rotor, 21,600 vph, and a power reserve of 40 hours.
