A true horological masterpiece, the Big Bang Unico Sapphire by Hublot is amazing on so many levels. First of all, it flaunts an incredible degree of transparency that gives it an almost weightless appearance and allows the eye to wander and explore its intricate mechanism. The case is made of polished sapphire crystal, and so is the bezel, dial and of course crystal. The hands are also transparent, but for enhanced visibility they have been given a White Luminescent treatment.
Inside the 45mm case is an in-house self-winding chronograph flyback movement with column wheel, caliber HUB1242. It took no less than four years to develop, has 330 hand-assembled components, has 72-hour power reserve and it can work perfectly fine at 100 meters under water. The watch sits comfortably and securely on the wrist thanks to a transparent structured strap that fastens with a titanium deployant buckle clasp.
