As one of the co-founders of The Bike Shed Motorcycle Club, London-based film director Gareth Roberts is so familiar with the custom bike scene he made a movie of it to be released in the Spring of 2018. It also put him in a unique position when he began rebuilding this Ducati MH900e he bought from a friend at Mint Customs.
He first went to Stradafab in Kansas, USA for a new custom frame and race exhaust system. Then he took it to Derbyshire’s HPS for Panigale 899 forks and an S2R trellis swinging arm as well as the carbon clip-ons for the piston fork Germany’s Performance Parts created along with the set of yokes. The next stop was at Steve Hillary’s Red Max Speed Shop in Devon to have the engine stripped and rebuilt; improvements including a vented clutch and high-performance pressure plates and springs. Somerset’s Paint Monkey painted the carbon-fiber replica bodywork in a metallic blue rather than traditional Ducati Red.
With time and a little help from his friends, Gareth Roberts ended up with this truly unique and outstanding cafe racer.
