What’s your favorite musical instrument? Learning to play is easier when you’re young, but it’s never too late to pick up a new skill. For example, some of us here wish we could play the piano, but a traditional model can be quite expensive. Not everyone knows this, but Casio also sells portable keyboards. The CASIOTONE CT-FS1 arrives in tonal white or black.
The models we’ve seen so far are usually sold in the brand’s regular colors. It’s either a black or silver body with white keys for the natural notes, while the sharps and flats are designated to the black keys. Therefore, these two tonal SKUs might not be ideal for beginners who are still familiarizing themselves with the basics.
However, piano virtuosos who want to play on an instrument with a distinct aesthetic flair are in luck. The CASIOTONE CT-FS1 is available in a stunning Midnight Black version and a striking Alpine White variant. To keep the footprint portable, each unit only incorporates 61 keys, unlike the standard piano’s 88 keys.
To adapt to varying preferences and skill levels, you can adjust the touch response sensitivity levels. “Feel Sync technology allows you to play with your favorite song by instantly adjusting the notes you play to harmonize with the song,” writes Casio. Around 70 songs are built-in, but we can likewise import more in MP3, WAV, and AIFF file formats.
Meanwhile, its AiX sound source system accurately reproduces the sounds of various instruments. Effects include reverb, delay, DSP, and chorus. Two 2.5W speakers let you play music anywhere. It can run on six AA batteries or through the AD-E95100L AC adapter. The CASIOTONE CT-FS1 measures 930 mm x 258 mm x 83 mm and weighs 9.92 lbs.
