BVLGARI’s Octo Finissimo Ultra COSC is currently the world’s thinnest mechanical watch. At one point, it directly competed with Richard Mille and its RM UP-01 Ferrari. With that out of the way, LVMH’s subsidiary can focus on other types of haute horlogerie. Exquisite craftsmanship and distinctive design combine to deliver the new Octo Finissimo Dual Time x Vianney Halter.

The 7th Geneva Watch Days is well underway, and people are expecting nothing but the best. 68 of the world’s leading brands are ready to unveil new references or maybe revamp some of their best-selling models. As always, we’ll do our best to cover everything, starting with this collaborative project between the Italian luxury house and the French independent watchmaker.

We’re looking at a svelte geometric silhouette, which then incorporates signature elements courtesy of the partnership. The Octo Finissimo Dual Time x Vianney Halter comes in two versions. One is sandblasted titanium with a matching titanium bracelet. Meanwhile, the other adds a brushed rose gold finish with a brown alligator strap.

According to the press release, only 30 examples are available for reference 104356 (titanium). Next, reference 104355 (rose gold) is only getting 15 units. The case measures 40.5 mm x 9.5 mm and boasts a water resistance of 98 feet. It’s impressive since the watch touts an exhibition caseback with a sapphire crystal cover.

What follows is the steampunk vibe of the multi-dial configuration. Each of these apertures features opaline backgrounds with rhodium plating. These display the hours/minutes/seconds, GMT, date, and day/night cycle. Finally, the Octo Finissimo Dual Time x Vianney Halter is running on a BVF 200 in-house self-winding movement with a 60-hour power reserve.
