Norda has teamed up with technical brand Black Diamond on its first-ever footwear built for high-mountain running. Called “000,” it’s ruggedly and optimally cushioned to provide protective, stable ground support and comfort on rocky, technical terrain.
The design still features the Canadian brand’s minimalist profile. But eagle-eye fans will also notice that it could be its most rugged shoe yet. The design promises unrivaled durability and protection for all-terrain adventures, plus “more ground feel and responsiveness than Norda’s existing lineup.”
Designed for high-altitude trail runners, the Norda 000 features a custom Norda x Vibram Megagrip and Litebase soleplate with 5mm lugs inspired by the Canadian Shield’s rock formation. Vibram Litebase technology enhances user performance and conserves energy by reducing overall sole weight by 30%.
Meanwhile, Vibram Mega Grip rubber delivers superior durability, traction, and the strongest grip on both wet and dry surfaces. Then the upper is seamlessly constructed with bio-circular Dyneema, the world’s strongest and lightest fiber, to deliver the best possible performance with the lowest environmental footprint.
Moreover, Norda 000 uses Vibram’s lightest and most resilient compound, the Vibram Stream Flow, to deliver the highest performance standard possible. Completing its rugged design are the Diamond-designed Norda laces made with bio-circular Dyneema. It boasts 4x the strength of regular laces and offers higher abrasion resistance.
Additionally, the Norda Dynamic Lock system eliminates tongue slippage. It also secures the shoe to the foot by connecting the external lace eyelet to an ultra-lightweight sock gusset construction. The Norda 000 is available in three colorways, namely Moonstone, Obsidian, and Kunzite.
