Celebrity endorsements do not guarantee favorable sales numbers. Still, a familiar face peddling your product remains a popular form of advertising. While this is the typical scenario, there are instances wherein Hollywood personalities take advantage of their clout to promote their own ventures. An interesting example is this reposado tequila from Dos Hombres.

Since the agave-based spirit is still surging in popularity among drinkers of all ages, striking while the iron is hot is a no-brainer. For the curious, the folks behind the label of this “artisanal” booze are none other than Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul. As fans of the phenomenal Breaking Bad series and its spin-offs, Walter White and Jesse Pinkman immediately come to mind.

So far, opinions and reviews of this reposado are mostly positive. Most claim that it’s a delightful sipper or alcoholic base for your favorite cocktails. After impressing drinkers with its mezcal under the careful direction of third-generation mezcalero Gregorio Velasco, Dos Hombres is now expanding its tequila lineup.

Sources tell us the first entry was a blanco under the supervision of master distiller Julio Cova. Now, we’re getting a special expression courtesy of the aging process. The tequila goes into first-fill ex-bourbon casks from Four Roses Distillery and matures for three to four months. What follows is another 30 days in stainless steel vats before bottling.

These extra steps impart tasting notes of cinnamon, vanilla, orchard fruit, black pepper, cooked agave, and American oak. Dos Hombres then bottles 750 ml of the reposado at 40% abv. It then slaps on a label that indicates “Artesanal 100% Agave, Single Estate, Double Distilled.”
