Clocking in at an overall length of 270 feet, the Essence earns its place as the third hull in the ISA Large Yacht Collection. In addition to its size, this luxurious watercraft boasts bespoke trappings that its status demands and deserves. For this endeavor, the subsidiary of the Palumbo Group calls on Igor Lobanov Studio.
With a beam of 42 feet, the Barcelona-based team was given a monumental task, given the ship’s 2,250 gross tonnage. Then there are the exterior areas as well. So far, images of the various areas of this vessel reveal a clean and coherent contemporary motif. We feel the design flows thoughtfully from one area to the its next.
As ISA Yachts puts it, everything “stems from a reflection on the relationship between continuity and evolution: on the one hand, the pursuit of balanced proportions and solutions that have proven their value over time; on the other, the desire for innovation and new experiences on board.” The lofty status of the Essence comes with lavish amenities.
To facilitate arrival and departure on demand, the foredeck features a touch-and-go helipad. For respite from the heat, take your pick between the transparent Jacuzzi on the upper deck, another Jacuzzi near the bow, and pools at the aft sections of the upper deck and main deck. Furthermore, the glass bottom of the latter allows light to filter through the stern beach club.
The Essense calls on two MTU 16V4000M63L engines at 2,240 kW each to help it reach up to 17 knots and maintain a cruising speed of 14 knots. When seafaring at a modest 12 knots, the monohull promises around 6,200 nautical miles. Accommodations, meanwhile, include 7 cabins for 12 guests and additional units for a crew of 21.
