Are you ready for the seasonal switch in style? Staying fashionable need not be expensive. As things start to get chilly, just layer on your favorite outwear and slip on some shoes to keep your feet warm. Just in time for fall, Nike presents two tonal takes on the Air Monarch, which ditches the usual leather for plush suede.
The Swoosh officially lists the duo in its catalog as IB2281-200 (Cacao Wow/Gum Medium Brown) and IB2281-001 (Black/Gum Medium Brown). Each reportedly retails for $100 USD and is due for release soon. As of this writing, the exact date is yet to be specified but is currently flagged for Holiday 2026.
Upon closer inspection, you’ll notice that the Air Monarch does not reconfigure the silhouette. Instead, the upper no longer features the familiar sheen of leather. The signature nap of suede endows the sneakers with a distinct matte texture. The understated profile is even more prominent on the almost blackout version.
Color-matching stitching defines the panels and overlays, while embroidery forms the Swoosh logo and Air branding on the heel. Up next is the cushioned mesh tongue, synthetic textile heel pull tab, and round shoelaces. The puffy collar and inner lining not only keep your footwear snugly in place, but also keep the cold out.
Both SKUs would have been chromatically one-dimensional if not for the signature hue of the gum outsole. These peek out from the front and flanks of the midsole. Meanwhile, the Air Monarch branding is easy to miss on the lateral side of the shoes’ forefoot midsole and tongue tag. Overall, these are stylish additions to your holiday wardrobe.
