Earlier this year, Tiffany & Co. unveiled a limited edition chronograph with a dial rendered almost completely in the brand’s signature color. Only 60 examples were available then, and as you can all guess, they quickly sold out in a heartbeat. If you missed out that time, the Tiffany Timer is back for another. Albeit with a fresh cosmetic look and some minor tweaks.
To compare, the previous iteration is more opulent, with baguette diamonds for its hour markers and a platinum 950 case. Moreover, its dial was entirely in Tiffany Blue, which we are big fans of. The official technical specifications detail a round 40 mm x 13.05 mm case. It flaunts a satin-polished grade 5 titanium rear cover, case middle, and pushers.
Next up is a polished bezel in 950 platinum and a crown that resembles a Tiffany & Co. solitaire ring setting. Four screws secure the exhibition case back and bolster the water resistance of the new Tiffany Timer. Before we make our way to the dial, both sides of reference 76538182 are covered by sapphire crystals.
Timekeeping elements include white gold hands, pointers, and hour markers. A trio of chronograph counters takes up position at 3 o’clock, 6 o’clock, and 9 o’clock. Its date aperture replaces the 6 o’clock index. What follows is a sunray dial in navy blue. Contrast comes from the Tiffany Blue minute track and sub-dial borders.
The intricate flourishes of the Tiffany Timer do not end there, as the oscillating weight of its custom Zenith El Primero 400 movement is adorned with a hand-sculpted 18K yellow gold “bird on a rock” decorative element — originally by Jean Schlumberger. The self-winding movement beats at a frequency of 5 Hz and offers a 50-hour power reserve.
