Like it or not, it appears to be a one-sided discussion when it comes to SUVs. It seems that people almost immediately associate the vehicle type with American-made models. Yet, you can also find outstanding examples manufactured by brands from other countries. We can think of one manufactured by Toyota, which went on to become an icon of its time—the Land Cruiser. You’ve already seen outstanding restorations performed on older machines. Yet, Blackdog Traders really transforms an iconic 4 x 4 into another winner–the Toyota Land Cruiser Hunter Custom.

Using its “Outdoorsman” template as the starting point, the Texas-based team began upgrading an already robust build into something even more. Outstanding performance appears to be their goal and they retooled the engine and other components. The engine bay now houses a 556-horsepower 6.2-liter supercharged LSA unit, intercooler, and a low-temp radiator. Meanwhile, its Ididit tilt steering column delivers exceptional control. The Old Man Emu suspension system paired with Fox shocks make for one smooth ride.

Other changes made include a custom woodgrain interior design, a custom billet grille, an iPad-compatible stereo receiver, safari roof rack, and more. You would be happy to know that Blackdog Traders would love to build a Land Cruiser exactly the way you want it. So set up and appointment and build the SUV of your dreams.
