Built as a personal project by Mark ‘Makr’ Atkinson of Speed Of Cheese Racing (North Salt Lake, Utah, USA), this eye-candy Bultaco Racer represents what motorcycles should be all about – pure, unadulterated fun.
The bike started as a Bultaco Alpina that was in rough condition, from which Mark only used the engine and rear hub. Although in decent shape, the locked engine had to be rebuilt, while various parts were fabricated, including a stainless steel exhaust pipe, aluminum frame, rear motor mount, swingarm mains, and aluminum tank and fenders. A Suzuki GS1100 drag bike donated its forks and the front wheel comes from a Moto Guzzi Eldorado. There’s also an Ignatech ignition powered by a rechargeable drill battery, a new fairing, and seat covered in left-over leather from the original bike, plus beautiful leather hand grips from bearscar.com.
Finished in cherry-red, this sexy racer weighs a mere 209 lbs, which should make it a truly fun, nimble ride. As Mark says “Ride fast, safety last!”
