Watchmaker Oris has been involved in a number of grand causes over the years and their latest creation takes its inspiration from the vintage Dewoitine D.26 aircraft used as a trainer by the Swiss Air Force before World War II that was restored by aircraft enthusiasts Hanger 31.

The Oris Big Crown D.26 is a re-interpretation of the original Oris Big Crown 1938 model. It has a 40mm steel case and the signature oversized crown along with a fluted bezel and domed sapphire crystal. The dial is a pale green that matches the cockpit color of the aircraft it is named for while the Arabic numbers and polished nickel hands are given a Super-LumiNova coating for visibility. The solid caseback has an engraving of the Dewoitine D.26 along with the authentication number for each of the 1,931 units being produced.

The Oris Big Crown D.26 Limited Edition does provide a small option in that it comes with your choice of either a light or dark brown leather strap.
