It’s not often that I get to review luggage, and honestly, that’s not my kinda thing (hint to sponsors: I prefer knives, whiskey & Ferraris, to name a few). My curiosity got aroused, however, when I was asked to review LAT_56’s Road Warrior Carry-On Suitcase ($449), partly because of its cool name, partly because I needed new travel gear. So I headed to Costa Brava (Spain) for a weekend, to spend some “me time” and test this bad boy out.
Made by Scotland’s LAT_56, one of the most premium performance travel product brands available, this cabin-approved suitcase is tough as nails. Enough so that it can take my 80 kilos of weight as I’m sitting on it while I write this review (ahh, the things we do for the sake of honest journalism)! On the outside, the ruggedness is ensured with a Military-spec moulded EVA foam and Ballistic Nylon water-resistant shell that is fitted with solid hardware including the handles with smooth up/down mechanisms and a reinforced bottom with 8 spinner wheels that can truly take some serious abuse.
Complete with useful details such as the detachable waterproof sealed shoe/laundry bag, luxury lining, and large quick-access pockets, this looks like the ultimate suitcase for the demanding traveler. Super strong and lightweight, the 32L-capacity Road Warrior arrives with a whopping 5-year warranty.
