London-based Edge of Belgravia has just introduced their latest knife collection, ‘The Black Flowers’. Blending a creative English design with superior quality Japanese steel, the Kuroi Hana Japanese Knife Collection ($290) will take its place among the finest Chef knives in the world.
At the heart of the knives is a time-tested steel core of AUS-10 alloyed with Vanadium for strength, long-lasting sharpness, and corrosion resistance. Over this core, 66 more layers of Aichi Steel Corporation’s S/S 430 and S/S 431 high carbon steel are added, using the ‘Damascus Effect’ to create that unique mottled pattern in the blades.
There are 6 knives in the complete set: a 4″ paring knife, a 5″ utility knife, a bread knife & general slicing blade both 7.5″ in length, and two Chef knives (6″ & 7.5″ long). Arriving in an artistically-shaped ‘Black Diamond’ knife block, the Kuroi Hana Chef collection is set to give food preparation an aesthetic touch for many years to come. Made by the same folks who also brought us these cool, all-black kitchen knives. Details in the video.
