When Indonesian brothers Arfu and Aji Agung decided that their goal in life was to make the best boots possible, they started researching where the finest materials came from. Gathering some of the best local talent they founded Pilgrim Footwear Company and started designing what they hope is a quality functional boot that also carries a pleasing aesthetic.
This first release of what they are calling the Milestone Boots Series ($235) definitely fits their dream. Fitted with leather uppers provided by the oldest tannery in Indonesia, they chose Dainite studded rubber for the sole, giving unsurpassed traction on surfaces both urban and outdoor. They picked the Handsewn Goodyear welt / Hand welt method to join them together. Available in colorways of Cognac and Bordeaux, each boot is also fully comfort lined with lamb-skin leather.
