Milan is considered to be the style capital of Italy, a reputation that South Garage Motor Company helps maintain. Their latest custom release is a tough looking machine they reworked from a 1979 BMW touring bike. The R75/5 Nerboruta (meaning powerful, beefy, in Italian) has all the look of a muscle-bound brawler.
Beginning by bobbing the rear end, South Garage then eliminated the original tank in favor of a hand-made unit that exemplifies the muscular aesthetic. The bike was given a relocated springer front end to keep the lines simple. Even the weld lines are left rough to maintain the no-holds-barred idea of raw physical power.
Since the woodgrain look is becoming a favorite touch in the world of custom bikes right now, there are two wood panels on the tank sides and the custom carved wooden seat hanging out over the rear wheel is a work of art unto itself. Whatever roads this custom BMW R75/5 airhead travels, it will leave no doubts that it is power barely contained.
