Built by Seattle-based firm Mw|works Architecture, ‘The Little House’ overlooks the dense forests and Hood Canal of Washington state, capturing “the essence of the modern cabin – small in size but much larger than its boundaries.”

The simple, cubic construction has an exterior covered in taut oxidized black cedar with blackened cement infill panels, while the contrasting interior sports lightly painted panels & pine plywood. Measuring just over 20 ft2, the cabin’s layout is centered on efficiency and it’s spread across two levels containing a kitchen, a living room with wood-burning stove & large corner window framing the forest landscape, plus a bedroom and a bathroom. Extending from the entryway, a patio area allows the inhabitants to sit outside and marvel at the picturesque surroundings.
