If you’re thinking to embark on a camping holiday or just wanna take some time off traveling the world in your own motorhome, the Mercedes Hymer Van S ($61,900) could be just what you need. It can also be used as a second car, as it handles city spaces just fine.
Designed to pull the double duty of daily commuting around town and escaping to the backcountry whenever needed, the Van is built (by German motorhome manufacturer Hymer) on a bare chassis of a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, which supports a foam-insulated aluminum cabin. Inside the cabin you’ll find all the necessities for a comfy trip, including a double bed, a kitchen unit (with a two-burner stove, sink and 65L refrigerator), a dining area, plus a 28 x 37″(70 x 95cm) washroom with toilet and fold-down sink.
The compact vehicle (222″ long, 87.4″ wide, 114″ tall) also comes with a 95 Ah battery, 90L fresh water tank, 100L waste tank, interior LEDs lights, air heating, plus various optional gear. Available starting July 2016, in 2 models, the Van S arrives just in time for summer tripping.
