With all the small homes popping out all over the globe, it’s pretty obvious that they’re a great option for people looking to live a simpler, more conscious life life, while also freeing themselves from the mortgage and the desire to accumulate more junk. The latest such home to catch our attention is this fun-looking, cleverly-designed Toybox Tiny Home ($48,000). And yes, it’s for sale!
Boasting a floorspace of only 140 sq ft (13 sq m), the design and construction of this miniature dwelling had to be focused on perfect versatility, which is seen in every corner of the place. The Toybox includes a living space that features 8 storage cubes (which can be arranged as a couch, seats, or an extra bed), and a kitchen equipped with a pantry wall, fridge, freezer, microwave, faucet, and enough worktop space. Furthermore there’s a small dining table (that doubles as work area), a bathroom with toilet, sink, and shower, and a raised sleeping area where you can fit a king size bed. Day-lighting and ventilation are provided by the large sliding glass door and an array of windows, while warmth is ensured by radiant underfloor heating and blown-in blanket insulation. And to make things even better, the Toybox Tiny Home features efficient LED lights throughout, and a grey water recycling system that feeds the plants found in a trough around the base of the house.
